Enter your measurements and press Calculate WHR.
Estimated result
WHR is a health screening tool, not a diagnostic measure.
How to use this calculator
Select your sex and enter your waist and hip circumferences in centimetres (or inches if using imperial). Waist is measured at the navel for men and at the narrowest point for women. Hip is measured at the widest point.
What the result means
WHR is calculated by dividing waist by hip circumference. WHO thresholds classify risk as: low (< 0.90 men / 1.00 men / > 0.85 women).
Important limitations
WHR is a screening tool, not a diagnostic measure. It does not account for height, age, ethnicity, or body composition.
FAQ
Is WHR better than BMI?
For cardiovascular risk, WHR may be a better predictor since central (abdominal) fat carries higher risk than overall weight.
How often should I measure?
Monthly tracking is sufficient to see meaningful trends.
