Why use this calculator

Rest periods between sets directly influence strength output, hypertrophy, and workout density. Too short and performance drops; too long and training density falls. A dedicated timer removes the guesswork so you rest exactly as long as your programme requires.

How to use this calculator

Choose a preset rest duration (30 s, 1 min, 90 s, 2 min, 3 min, or 5 min) or enter a custom value. Press Start Rest to begin. The timer alerts you when rest is complete.

What the result means

Rest periods between sets affect recovery, strength, and hypertrophy. Shorter rests (60–90 s) are more metabolically demanding; longer rests (2–5 min) support maximum strength output.
